THE ON-SCREEN PLAYALONG PROJECT
How did it start?
It all started in Cyberspace…. (because the Jaybirds communicate entirely by
e-mail) ….when Colin very rashly offered to help Joy and Joyce
(the original Jaybirds) to improve their playing. They wanted to be
able to play like him, phrase like him, use his sort of chord sequences and
so on – but the big question was HOW? Colin neither reads nor writes music
whereas the Jaybirds can only play with the written music in front of them!
So, to bridge the gap, they decided to try and create some “on-screen
playalongs”. It has been a steep learning curve for all the Jaybirds but
they are thrilled with the results and so asked Cees if they could share
them with other KN7000 players through his KESO©-website (april 2005)
Meet the
Jaybirds...
1. Colin
(U.K.) – Composer, arranger, player and sequencer – a
completely “natural” musician and total “ear player”. He produces the
playalong sequences.
2. Joyce
(U.K.)– No.2 on the production line! When the sequences are
ready, she produces the written music for them.
3. Ted (U.S.)
– No.3…………. He writes the lyrics and occasionally composes a tune too!
4. Joy (N.Z.)
– No.4 ……. She converts the written music into “on-screen” format and loads
it into the sequence.

1. Unzip the KN7-file to (an empty) floppy disk or SD card.
2. Load into the KN7000.
Playing
1. Press the flashing START/STOP button to listen or to playalong to the sequence.
2. The on-screen music will appear.

Download both the KN7-file and the PDF-file. To save the PDF file to your computer, right-click on the mouse and select 'save (target) as'.
